William Butler Yeats was an Irish poet and dramatist whose best known poem is probably The Lake Isle of Innisfree . Not only did Yeats become internationally famous for his poetry but he also excelled as a dramatist and along with Lady Gregory founded the world famous Abbey Theatre in Dublin.
Yeats won the Nobel Prize for Literature in 1923.
